Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Isekai (“the App”, package
com.ljbdelacruz.isekai) collects, uses, and shares
information. The App is operated by a solo developer (“we”, “us”).
1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to people who install or use Isekai on Android, iOS, or other supported platforms, and to people who visit this website.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may process:
- Account identifiers. Firebase Authentication may create an anonymous account when you start playing. If you link Google or Apple, we may receive a provider user ID, email address, and display name from that provider.
- Gameplay and save data. Adventure progress (for example character stats, inventory, chapter progress, chat history, and world location) stored locally on your device and/or in Firebase Firestore under your account.
- Optional media. Screenshots or shared session assets you create in the App may be uploaded to Firebase Storage tied to your account.
- Feedback you send. Messages submitted through Send Feedback, including category tags and basic device/app metadata (for example platform and app version).
- Story prompts for AI narration. When cloud narration is used, recent player actions and story context are sent to our Cloud Functions and processed by Google’s generative AI (Gemini) to produce the next story text.
- Technical diagnostics. Standard Firebase / Google service logs needed to run Auth, Firestore, Functions, and Storage (for example timestamps, request metadata). We do not currently use a separate advertising SDK or Firebase Analytics in the App.
3. How we use information
- To provide and sync your adventures across sessions and devices.
- To generate AI-narrated story responses when cloud turns are enabled.
- To receive and review player feedback (bugs, ideas, praise).
- To secure accounts, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable.
- To comply with applicable law or enforce our rights if required.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process data to perform the contract of providing the App, based on your consent (for example when you link a social account or send feedback), and for legitimate interests such as securing the service and improving early gameplay.
5. Sharing and processors
We do not sell your personal information. We use trusted processors to run the App:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Hosting) — see Firebase Privacy.
- Google Generative AI / Gemini — used server-side to generate narration from story context you create while playing. See Google’s generative AI terms and privacy documentation.
- Sign-in providers — Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple, if you choose to link them.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the App, or as part of a transfer of the project (with notice where required).
6. Data retention
We keep account and save data while your account exists and as needed to provide the App. Feedback may be retained to improve the product. You may request deletion of your account data (see Contact). Local device caches (for example Hive saves) remain under your control until you clear app data or uninstall.
7. Security
We use Firebase security rules, authenticated APIs, and industry-standard cloud controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please use account linking if you want stronger recovery of cloud saves.
8. Children’s privacy
Isekai is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
9. International transfers
Firebase and Google AI services may process data in regions outside your country (including facilities operated by Google). By using the App you understand that your information may be transferred to those locations subject to the providers’ safeguards.
10. Your choices and rights
- Continue as a guest (anonymous Auth) without linking Google/Apple.
- Link or unlink social sign-in where the App and OS allow it.
- Send only the feedback you choose to submit.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold about you by contacting us (subject to identity verification and legal exceptions).
11. Third-party links and stores
App Store / Google Play listings and any third-party sites have their own privacy practices. This policy covers Isekai and this Hosting site only.
12. Changes
We may update this policy as the App evolves. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, when changes are material, provide additional notice in the App or on this page when practical.
